illegal Viagra Dealers Caught..
Posted: Wed Sep 03, 2008 11:45 amDaegu Food and Drug Administration arrested three Illegal manufacturers of anti-impotence pills which contained tadalafil & sildenafil, Tuesday. The drugs were sold at 19 hotels and entertainment facilities through vending machines in the city.
According to authorities, the manufacturers imported 1.5 kilograms of tadalafil & sildenafil, which require approval for use, and mixed them with Oriental medicine ingredients. These fake pills, dubbed as Oriental Viagra, were sold for 10,000 won per five grams.
The administration teamed up with local prosecutors to confiscate 638 kilograms of the pills valued at 430 million won.
Since it contains materials used for Viagra, the pills may have helped fight impotence a bit. Still, they were likely to cause headaches and indigestion. It could result in myocardial infarction and stroke for those with hypertension,'' Kang Yong-mo, the administration spokesman said.
