A judge has banned a paedophile with a 30-year history of sex offences from taking Viagra.

The Mirror revealed last week during his sentencing for a 2008 assault how Roger Martin, 71, was being prescribed the stimulant on the NHS. Child safety campaigners were furious.

But on Friday Martin, of Dogsthorpe, Peterborough, was hauled back before Judge Nicholas Coleman at the city's crown court and given the ban.

Claude Knights, of Kidscape, said: "It's a victory for common sense."
